Berlin transport tickets

The same ticket can be used on all forms of local transport in Berlin operated under the umbrella of the Berlin Transport Association, the VBB - and that means virtually every type of transport except privately run sightseeing buses. 

 

All tickets must be validated (date and time stamped) at the start of your journey (or first journey, in the case of multi-journey tickets). 

There are a number of different types of tickets:

Standard single Einzelfahrausweis
How long is it valid for? 2 hours from when you stamp it
Where can I get one? Ticket machines or bus driver
How much are they? € 2 (zones A & B)
Short trip single Kurzstrecke
How long is it valid for? 3 train stops / 6 bus stops (one direction)
Where can I get one? Ticket machines or bus driver
How much are they? € 1.20
One day ticket Tageskarte
How long is it valid for? From the date printed on it, or the date when you stamp it until 3 a.m. next morning
Where can I get one? Ticket machines
How much are they? € 6 (zones A, B and C)
7-day ticket 7-Tageskarte
How long is it valid for? From 1 minute past midnight on the morning of day 1 until midnight on day 7 (must be consecutive). Day 1 is determined by when you buy or stamp the ticket.
Where can I get one? Ticket machines
How much are they?  € 30 (zones A, B and C)

3-day Welcome Card

How long is it valid for? 72 hours from when you stamp it
Where can I get one? Ticket machines, tourist offices, hotels
How much are they? € 21 (zones A, B and C)
