Famous
players The club's five most revered players were all members of the
German 1954 World Cup winning team: |
- Werner Kohlmeyer
- Horst Eckel
- Werner Liebrich
- Ottmar Walter
- Fritz Walter
All five players were also members of Kaiserslautern's championship winning
side in 1951 and 1953.
While Fritz Walter led Germany to World Cup
success in 1954, it looks likely to be former Kaiserslautern
player (1997-99, 46 games) Michael Ballack (pictured), who
will captain the national side in the 2006 tournament. |
