Dortmund's own airport is relatively small, used in the main by low-cost airlines, such as easyJet and Air Berlin. However the state of North Rhine Westphalia is served by numerous other airports, including the major international ones at Düsseldorf (DUS) and Cologne (CGN). The map below shows the location of these in relation to Dortmund (DTM). |
From Dortmund airport there is a shuttle bus service to Dortmund main station. This runs regulalry during airport business hours, takes about 25 minutes to get there and costs €5 for adults (Dec '04). There is also a free shuttle bus to the nearby Holzwickede railway station. The journey takes just 5 minutes and buses run every 15 mintues from 5am to 11pm, with 8 trains an hour from the station to major mainline hubs at Dortmund's main station and at Hamm. |
