We've searched the web to find good online listings of people offering bed and breakfast in Germany.  And we found: www.bed-and-breakfast.de Everything on the website is in English, and they classify every property into 1 of 3 categories: Simple, superior and luxury.  Local b&b agencies bed-and-breakfast.de operates local agency offices in numerous towns around Germany.
You let them know by an e-mail link what you're looking for and they'll come back to you with appropriate bed and breakfast options. Zimmer frei All communication with bed-and-breakfast.de is in English, so you don't have to struggle with trying to book a room with a landlady who can only speak German!  (But just in case, Zimmer frei means 'rooms vacant').
