Uwe Seeler (1953-72, Footballer of the Year 1960, 64 and 70, 72 caps, 4 World Cups, Bundesliga top scorer 1964 etc, etc.). It was also the final port of call in the career of another footballing giant, Franz Beckenbauer (1980-82).
