| Stuttgart's location in Germany |
Paris is nearer than Berlin!
Stuttgart is the most southwesterly of all the World Cup venues and only 60-odd miles from the German border with France. In fact, it's a shorter journey from Stuttgart to Paris than it is from Stuttgart to Berlin or Hamburg! Berlin is 393 miles away by road and Hamburg over 400.
Of the other 11 World Cup venues only 4 are less than 200 miles away, i.e. Frankfurt, Kaiserslautern and the two in Bavaria, Nuremberg and Munich.
Nevertheless despite the distances involved, the German Autobahn network provides straightforward links to the other cities.
