Six venues over 250 miles away
 |
| Nuremberg's location in Germany |
Nuremberg is in Bavaria, in the south-east of Germany and not that far from the border with the Czech Republic. It's fairly handy for the other Bavarian venue, Munich, which is just under 100 miles away and less than 150 miles from Stuttgart and Frankfurt. However some of the other World Cup grounds are a very long drive away.
800-mile round-trip
Hamburg is not far short of being an 800-mile round trip, while both Gelsenkirchen and Hanover are almost 300 miles away as well.
If you're driving to the city from elsewhere or you base yourself in Nuremberg and get about by car, you're therefore going to become very familiar with motorways such as the A9 (running from Munich to Berlin) and the A3 (running west and north-west of Nuremberg).
