Berlin fan survey continued...

Where do fans meet to celebrate after a win?

Sören
: In this respect Berlin is still divided.  Here in the west, we have two places we meet: (1) the Ku'damm, and (2) the Street of 17th June (Straße des 17. Juni)

Markus
: On the Ku'damm

Alex
: See above

Andrea
: Hanne am Zoo (Hanne am Zoo website in German); Ku'Dorf (a disco - website in German) on Joachimsthaler Strasse, near to the Kurfürstendamm tube station; and the Stadion-Terrassen (web page in German, with map).

Gunnar
: Ku'damm.

Joël: On Breitscheidplatz (next to the Zoo station).

Where do fans meet after a defeat?

Sören: After a defeat, we always meet up in small pubs (e.g. the Bierbrunnen or Tiergartenquelle - Insider Tour review).

Markus: There's nothing to celebrate then.  We just go home frustrated.

Alex & Andrea: See above

Gunnar: Ku'damm.

Joël: On Breitscheidplatz (next to the Zoo station).

Where's a cheap place to stay overnight?

Sören
: The cheapest will be with
www.host-a-fan.de, where lots of students - like us - are renting out a room in their shared houses.  Otherwise there are lots of hotels in Berlin, both large and small - but they're already (in February) supposed to be 75% sold out!

Markus: I think it's bound to cheaper in a hotel just outside Berlin, rather than in the city itself.

Alex: Preferably in a youth hostel.  See: www.djh-berlin-brandenburg.de

Andrea: For young people the youth hostels offer a good deal, otherwise hotels on the periphery of Berlin.

Gunnar: A&O Hostel (online details), right next to the Zoo station.

Joël: www.hrs.de has a good selection, otherwise as a last resort under a tree in the Tiergarten.

Other than your own, which do you rate as the three best World Cup grounds in Germany?

Sören
: Munich, Gelsenkirchen and Hamburg

Markus: Allianz Arena in Munich, Leipzig and the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen (Schalke's ground) - I have to admit the Arena is good, even though as a Hertha fan I can't stand Schalke!

Alex: Dortmund, Hamburg, Cologne

Andrea: Allianz Arena, AOL Arena in Hamburg and the Central Stadium in Leipzig.

Gunnar: ???

Pepsi-Peppy: Allianz Arena in Munich, Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen and the Westfalen Stadion in Dortmund.

Joël: Kaiserslautern, Dortmund and Hanover.
