The World Cup at the Waldbühne What you see above is the 'Waldbühne', a 20,000 capacity amphitheatre built as part of the Olympic Stadium complex in Berlin, just a javelin's throw from the back of the stadium itself. Our Berlin contacts tell us it's by far the best open-air venue in the city, and this summer they're screening the World Cup games at the Waldbühne on an enormous 100 square metre screen, which they claim will be the biggest in Berlin!

Waldbühne public viewing So why not hedge your bets? Where else would you want to be on the weekend of the World Cup Final other than in Berlin? But, hey you might not get a ticket for the game. Why not buy a ticket for the Waldbühne just in case - that way you can hang around the stadium in the hour or so before the game (if for any reason you want to do that ... can't think why you might!), and then, if you can't get into the ground, hop across to the ampitheatre and watch the game there ... within earshot of the cheers from the stadium itself! Of course, if in the interim you manage to get a ticket for the stadium, you can always give / sell your Waldbühne ticket to somebody else! |
