Famous players   Rudi Assauer - now general manager at arch rivals Schalke 04.   Andreas Möller - won the German championship twice with BVB, plus the European Championship and World Cup with Germany.   Michael Rummenigge - Karl-Heinz's little brother.   Matthias Sammer - (pictured) twice won the East German league as a player with Dynamo Dresden, and the Bundesliga with Stuttgart, before repeating this twice with BVB.  Won European Footballer of the Year in 1996 and the Champions League in 1997.  After leading Dortmund to a further championship as manager / head coach in 2002, his 10-year contract was terminated in 2004 'by mutual agreement'.   Jürgen Kohler - Won the World Cup with Germany, plus the German championship - twice - and European Champions League with BVB.   Christian Wörns - German international, defender, won the league with BVB in 2002
