Hanover's position within Germany

Six venues under 200 miles away

Hanover (or Hannover with two n's, to give the name of the city its German spelling) is located in central northern Germany.

It terms of other World Cup venues, it is to the north east of the cluster of three host cities in the North Rhine / Ruhr District area, i.e. Cologne (184 miles away), Gelsenkirchen (147 miles) and Dortmund (133 miles), 100 miles south of the northernmost venue, Hamburg, and 174 miles west of Berlin. 

In addition to the five venues mentioned above, Hanover is also under 200 miles away from Leipzig (161, in fact).  The remaining host cities are further afield, with Munich and Stuttgart both over 300 miles away.  

However, despite some of the distances involved, the German autobahn network provides good links to all of the venues.
