As part of the arrangements for this year's World Cup, all 12 venues will be organising an official 'fan park' in their city, where fans can gather, party and watch the games on giant screens.

Party on Augustplatz

The 'Fan Fest' in Leipzig will take place on Augustplatz, a central square adjacent to the city's opera house and Gewandhaus, a striking concert hall.

56 games on the big screen
This will provide room for tens of thousands of fans to watch 56 of the World Cup games (8 of the 64 games run simultaneously) live on a giant screen.

Full supporting programme
There will also be a full supporting programme of entertainment.

The range of entertainment will include music, stage shows and celebrity acts plus exhibitor and catering areas.

A short walk from the station
The Augustplatz is just a short walk from the station and all areas of central Leipzig - if you ever lose your bearings and want to find, just look up into the sky for the 34-storey university tower with its unique triangular peak, as this stands in one corner of the square.
